Every desktop pick-and-place sells you a motion platform — the expensive, already-solved 80% of the machine. Millions of people already own an excellent one: a modern CoreXY 3D printer. Magpie is the missing 20% — a toolhead, machine vision, and software that ride on the hardware you have.

02How it works

Remove the print head

Unclip the stock extruder from the carriage. Nothing permanent.

Attach the Magpie toolhead

A vacuum nozzle, a rotation axis, and cameras slide onto the same carriage.

Pick, correct, place

It lifts parts from tape, checks each one with machine vision, and sets it on the pad.

For rigid CoreXY / Klipper printers. Phase 1 assembles boards — you still source the bare PCB, which is cheap and fast (a 2-layer board is about $2).
